Bloom: My Personal Approach

More Than a Therapist: Why I Love the Work I Do

When people think of therapy, they often imagine diving straight into the “work” — untangling thoughts, examining patterns, or solving problems. And while those are certainly important aspects of the therapeutic process, for me, therapy begins somewhere else entirely: with connection.

Before anything else, I want to get to know you. Not just your struggles or symptoms, but who you are as a whole person — your personality, your quirks, the things that light you up or weigh you down. I’m deeply curious about what makes you you. I believe that the best therapeutic work grows out of real, human relationships built on trust, understanding, and authenticity.

That’s why I take time to learn how each of my clients experiences the world. I listen closely for the subtle ways people express themselves, and I look for those moments where we can genuinely connect. Whether that’s through humor, quiet reflection, or shared curiosity, it’s those small bridges of connection that allow for meaningful growth.

I find so much joy in this process. Getting to know people on such a deep level is both a privilege and a responsibility I don’t take lightly. Watching clients move from feeling stuck or uncertain to feeling empowered and seen — that’s what drives me every day.

Therapy, to me, is not just a service. It’s a relationship. And I’m grateful to walk alongside my clients as they learn more about themselves, heal, and move toward the lives they want to create.

Just a short note this week — thanks for reading, and I’m wishing you a grounded and gentle start to your week. Take good care.
